Mindfulness is the basic human capacity to be fully present. Mindful awareness practices help us develop the skill of paying attention to our inner and outer experiences in an open, accepting and compassionate way. A growing body of research literature supports the benefits of mindfulness to reduce stress, improve attention, boost the immune system, reduce emotional reactivity, mitigate depression, anxiety and ADHD, and promote a general sense of health and well-being.
Mindful UCLA is an initiative that promotes resilience, well-being, compassion, and connection on campus through mindfulness-related programming and events. Our commitment is to offering transformative experiences based in evidence and designed to foster growth, health, and strength within and among the diverse communities on the UCLA campus.
